What is a Heat Pump?

A heat pump is a method of providing heating and cooling to any space, whether it be via a ducted or ductless indoor unit. A slim-line outdoor condenser unit connects through small piping to a variety of indoor units that sit almost unnoticed in the décor of any room. In order to provide cooling, the pump extracts heat from inside the home or building and transfers it outdoors. In order to provide heating, the pump extracts heat from outside the home or building and transfers it inside. The heat is transferred via refrigerant that flows through the pipes between the indoor and outdoor units.

The best performing heat pumps are those that offer variable capacity. The heat pumps constantly modulate in order deliver the exact amount of heating or cooling demanded by the indoor unit’s thermostat / controller. Delivering the exact load that is required, the heat pumps offer exceptional efficient energy and cost savings.

Unlike many conventional forced air systems that heat or cool an entire home or building to one temperature, heat pump systems are ideal for zoned systems where different temperatures are required in different parts of a building or home.
